Can you change the world
with the coffee you choose?
Artisan roasted, 100% Arabica beans embrace hints of citrus, blueberry and chocolate to create this light-bodied, aromatic brew. Buna Bet means coffee house in Amharic, the official language in Ethiopia.
Who Are the Lost Tribes?
The 12 sons of Israel, which became the 12 tribes of Israel, were delivered from slavery in Egypt and brought into the land – Israel – that was promised to their fathers. Because of their disobedience, God scattered them to the ends of the Earth. But He promised one day to bring them back. So where are they now? Did they disappear? Did they assimilate? Have they been persecuted and wiped out? Amazingly many of these “Lost Tribes” are reemerging today.
In the last 75 years or so, Jewish communities have been discovered in Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, India, China, and other surprising countries. Even though the “Lost Tribes” are found, the name stuck because it says so much about their history.
Your support changes lives!
Your donation will provide medical care to even more people in the "Lost Tribes" of Israel. By choosing to not receive a regular coffee bag, even more of your gift will go directly to helping provide quality medical care in Ethiopia and Zimbabwe.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:
Lost Tribes Coffee Co. is a project of Jewish Voice Ministries International (JVMI), which serves members of the “Lost Tribes of Israel” with humanitarian aid and the Gospel. Lost Tribes Coffee Co. was founded to help fund medical aid and clean water initiatives to Jewish people living in poverty-stricken places like rural Ethiopia and other parts of Africa. These people are often rejected and persecuted by those around them, just for being Jewish. While caring for these people physically, Jewish Voice shares the message of hope found only in the Gospel of the Jewish Messiah, Jesus. That means, with each bag of LTCC coffee, you change lives!
How did you choose the name Lost Tribes Coffee Co.?
The vision of Lost Tribes Coffee Co. is the same at that of its founder, Jewish Voice Ministries International (JVMI): to proclaim the Gospel and see all Israel saved. One of the keys that opens doors toward this is compassionately meeting physical needs. “People don’t care what you know until they know that you care.” That’s what JVMI’s President and CEO, Jonathan Bernis, always says. And he’s right! We wholeheartedly want to alleviate physical suffering in these poverty-stricken Jewish communities. At the same time, we recognize that the spiritual side of things is even more critical because the consequences last for eternity.
What’s the driving passion behind LTCC?
We get our coffee from one of the best places in the world for coffee: Ethiopia – the birthplace of coffee. The 100% Arabica beans come from a single source, grown on a farm at high altitude to produce its fantastic fruity, chocolatey tasting notes. You’ll always have a great cup of coffee with Lost Tribes Coffee Co.
Where do you get your coffee?
LTCC coffee comes conveniently ground and ready to brew.
Is the coffee whole beans or ground?
Our coffee goes from green beans to roasted to ground and packaged in about four days. Each bag undergoes a process to remove the oxygen, creating an optimal environment that promotes a full 12-month shelf life.
How fresh is the coffee? How long will it stay fresh?
Yes! Our delicious LTCC coffee comes to you via a certified kosher process, observed and approved by a rabbi and adhering to the strict standards of Kosher Check.
Is Lost Tribes Coffee Co. coffee kosher?
Besides being Kosher Check certified, Lost Tribes Coffee Co. coffee is also Fair Trade and Organic certified.
What other certifications does LTCC coffee have?
Imagine having an injury, a painful condition – or worse, an out of control fever or infection – but no access to medical care. That’s what it’s like in the communities Jewish Voice Ministries International (JVMI) serves. JVMI founded Lost Tribes Coffee Co. to help fund medical, dental and eye care during weeklong Medical Clinics in impoverished Jewish communities of Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, and other parts of the world. These Medical Outreach Clinics save lives, restore sight and more. On top of that, patients can speak with members of the Spiritual Care Ministry, receive prayer and, most of all, hear the Gospel.
The average cost of caring for one patient at a JVMI Medical Clinic is just $30. Each $30 you give helps one person heal, physically and spiritually. As our way of saying “Thanks,” you receive a bag of awesome LTCC coffee at regular intervals throughout the year, depending on the partnership level you choose.
How does LTCC coffee help Jewish people in need?
Yes – part of them, anyway. The amount of your donation above the fair market value of the coffee you receive is tax deductible. You can find a breakdown showing the fair market value of items you received by logging in to your Jewish Voice partner account (or create one here). Click Giving History from the menu to learn the tax-deductible amounts of your donations.
